FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LASERGRAPHICS SHIPS THE PRODUCER 2 CINE FILM RECORDER, WITH LESS THAN 1 SECOND PER FRAME SPEED FOR UNDER US$300K
Irvine, California, May 6, 2002 — Lasergraphics, Inc., the world's leading producer of 2K, 4K, 8K and 16K digital film recorders, is shipping The Producer 2 cine film recorder as its latest addition to the highly successful Producer series product line. At less than 1 second per 1920x1080 resolution frame, The Producer 2 delivers the highest image quality at the fastest speed of any cine film recorder. Eliminating the need to conform to any predefined image sizes, The Producer 2 accepts any user-defined images from 4096 x 3072 for ultra-high resolution imaging to low-resolution 640 x 480 images for video-to-film transfers. Priced at under US$300K, including camera back and computer, The Producer 2 is offered with extensive free technical consulting and tools for user-built film tables.
The Producer 2 is equipped with Lasergraphics' highly optimized optical system specifically designed to produce the industry's highest quality color purity and focus. It features the company's custom designed CRT controls that dynamically map electron beam distortion and spot size to ensure perfect center to corner image uniformity. The Producer 2 continuously calibrates itself as it operates, maintaining perfect exposure levels over its lifetime. Fully functional film tables are provided and do not need to be changed by the user, although users can also choose to compensate for variations in film stock and chemistry with Lasergraphics' FullCircle ™ calibration software (included). The Producer 2 system, operating on the industry-standard Windows XP platform, includes a PC with all film recorder software pre-installed and ready to use. This allows customers to be up and running in less than an hour after receiving the unit.
The Producer 2's easy to use graphical interface displays a preview of the image and provides a histogram of the image data to aid in the selection of precise exposure parameters. The unit performs sophisticated up-sampling automatically, and on-the-fly with no visible artifacts. Projects can be completed faster since time-consuming up-sampling steps are eliminated. To further enhance the customer's experience, The Producer 2's operating status can be monitored from any web browser anywhere in the world at any time. In addition, users can receive email or pager notifications after a specified number of frames have completed, at job completion or if a problem arises.
