The Producer 3 and Producer 4 provide the added ability to record digital masters to Kodak Separation film — which has a lifespan of up to 500 years! Standard film dyes begin fading immediately after exposure, resulting in significant deterioration within a couple of decades. Digital media, lacking standards, offers an even less viable long term alternative. Recording the digital master directly to archival separation film ensures the highest first generation quality — eliminating the generational loss traditionally incurred when separations are made via contact printing.
